Natsu was born in Voorhees, New Jersey. His father is a doctor and his mother is a dentist. They're used to wierd things happening as they watch Natsu 'talk to himself,' when he's really talking to ghosts. One day, he met a very odd ghost holding a large double-bladed scythe. He said that the scythe had chosen him and needed him to be a living reaper in Midnight Town because the previous reaper was killed and his soul was banished. Natsu didn't have a choice but to agree.
Unfortunately, his friend, Jaden, had died that same night. Jaden then became a familiar for Natsu and took the form of a
and follows Natsu wherever he goes.
His parents, knowing what he was and that he had to keep it a secret, moved to the town with him and made sure his secret was kept safe. That is how he came to Midnight Town
